Sara Smith, DO

Dr. Sara Smith obtained her bachelor of arts degree in chemistry from Hope College. Following her time at Hope College, she joined the certified nursing assistant program at Walker Medical Instructional Services in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She continued her education at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine where she graduated with her doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine. Her residency was in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital.

Dr. Smith’s experience includes teaching as a lecturer at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital. Presentations included a variety of topics: Gynecology Oncology, Urogynecology, Interpretation and Management of Fetal Heart Rate Tracings, Vaginal Bleeding in Pregnancy, and Maternal Fetal Medicine. She was a member of the Cesarean Section Review Committee and the Obstetrics and Gynecology Committee at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital. Dr. Smith was also a clinical instructor for medical students at Michigan State University in the Department of Osteopathic Surgical Specialties.

Dr. Smith is Davinci certified and is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Medical Association, the American Osteopathic Association, the Michigan Osteopathic Association, and DOCARE International.

Dr. Smith joined Oaklawn in 2021.
